About

Hi! I’m Stephanie, a theme park-loving, cruise-taking, Europe-wandering big kid in an adult’s body!

Welcome to my unconditional adventure

I have loved theme parks and amusement parks as long as I can remember. The rides mostly, but as I got older I began to appreciate the food, the storytelling, and the experiences that a lot of the bigger parks offered.

I grew up in Willard, Missouri (home of Chappell Roan, and no, I haven’t met her). My mom and I loved to visit the parks close to us; Silver Dollar City, Six Flags, Worlds of Fun. Once I got over my fear of rollercoasters, I was a force to be reckoned with. Open to close park days, visiting in the blazing heat or rain or snow, waiting in lines that were hours long because fast passes didn’t exist yet… it was glorious.

I was introduced to the idea of immersive theme parks like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios when I was in junior high and high school, but I didn’t really appreciate them until I was in my 20s. Then I began to notice those details that made me feel like I was a part of the story; the music, the themed food, the story set up during the queue lines. I couldn’t get enough! I found myself traveling to Orlando every two to three years to spend time in the theme parks with friends, for special events, and on solo trips. So much so that my friends and family started asking me for travel tips!

In my late 20s I found another travel destination that I instantly fell in love with – Las Vegas. The city had everything I could hope for; amazing shows, thrill rides, themed hotels, and every type of food imaginable. Plus it was so walkable but also had public transport options for when my knees gave out. I also figured out quite quickly that I could get to Vegas cheaply, stay for a long weekend at a decent hotel, and find some pretty amazing deals on food and drinks. I became a regular, visiting almost yearly for 15 years for conventions, romantic weekend trips, and friend vacations.

During the pandemic, I saw an opportunity to turn my love and knowledge of travel destinations into a business. I contacted a good friend of mine, the owner of Magical Vacations, LLC in Nixa, Missouri, to ask if she would ever consider bringing on another travel advisor. She laughed and told me she already had about 15 active advisors besides herself… She pointed out I have a unique opportunity to help a couple groups of people that may not always get the focus when it comes to travel – the LGBTQ+ community, and solo travelers. I am a member of both, and I realized I can help other solo travelers stay safe while having an epic vacation. I can provide valuable insight to other LGBTQ+ travelers on which destinations are safe and accepting. A total game changer for me.

I kept my day job. Still have it, in fact. But it’s just that – a job. A good one that I like most of the time, but a job. Travel, on the other hand, is life. And I want to live!

I’ve been a Travel Advisor with Magical Vacations, LLC since 2021, and it has expanded my travel horizons in so many ways. I take cruise vacations, which I can’t get enough of and firmly believe is the most affordable way to travel. I explore various all-inclusive resorts on my own and with friends to see which are family-friendly, which are adult focused, and which have amazing food and drinks that don’t make you feel cheated. And I took the trip of a lifetime for my 40th birthday; a solo trip to explore London, Southern Scotland, and Southern Ireland. It truly changed my life.

Not only do I love to travel AND plan, I love to write. So starting this blog seemed like a no brainer. I can share with you some of the basics, like the best times of the year to visit theme parks and Las Vegas, which all-inclusive resorts are worth the money, and what cruise lines are better suited for families versus adult travelers. But more than that, it gives me a chance to really share what I KNOW! The strategy behind a great theme park day. Which countries I can travel to as a lesbian and know I’m safe, or know I shouldn’t step foot in. Where I can walk around by myself in Las Vegas and where I can’t. There’s so much more I’m learning every day. And I’m excited to share that knowledge with you.

I get that there are plenty of travel blogs and travel content creators out there. I’ll tell you what I’m NOT – a person who uses generic b-roll and reads a Google list. I don’t repurpose Top 3 lists and just show you pretty pictures. If I write about something, I’ve done it. I’ve been there. And I have insight to share because I’ve experienced it myself. What you get from me will always be authentic, usable information – that’s a promise.

So come with me on this unconditional adventure. I’m still “adult-ish” at heart… just a big kid forced to act like a grown up sometimes… but that gives me an advantage in this field because I still see magic and adventure EVERYWHERE! Of course, I’d love to help you plan and book your next epic vacation so we can tailor it to whatever will make it perfect for you. (Email me here and let me know what you’re looking for!) But more importantly, I hope you find inspiration here. I hope your mind and heart open up and you feel excited thinking about where your next adventure may lead. I hope you decide to take a trip, and that trip changes your life, just like so many have changed mine. Let me know how I can help, and what else you’d like to see!

Happy Adventuring!
